Our 3rd CENTURI Scientific day took place last friday on May 10, 2019 at the Hexagone.  You were more than a hundred members of the CENTURI community gathered to discuss about new interdisciplinary research projects and present new collaboration perspectives.

A total of 16 short talks have been presented by CENTURI scientists and 15 posters have also been presented.

NEW ARTICLE - 4 new group leaders at the Turing Centre for Living Systems

CENTURI published on its website a new article focusing on the new group leaders who joined our project last February.

Learn more about Matthias Merkel, Hervé Rouault, Jean-François Rupprecht and Paul Villoutreix through this article! A longer version of the interviews is also available…

CENTURI Training Courses

Our training course focused on oral communication will take place on May 15 & 22, 2019.

The training course is designed to teach PhD students how to create fascinating oral presentations, customized for their audience. Due to the large number of participants for this session, we were not able to accept all applicants. However, another training course on oral communication will take place in December 2019… Stay tuned!

CENTURI Summer School 2019 - Registrations open to PhD students

CENTURI is organising a Summer School on the Luminy campus from June 3 to June 12, 2019.

Entitled “From data to biology and back – Reverse engineering biological networks”, this interdisciplinary training programme aims at building bridges between engineers and scientists. It is a unique opportunity to apply their skills in mathematics, physics and computational science to biological questions.

The programme is divided in 2 parts:

Morning courses, where students will explore open questions in biology and discover experimental approaches in biology

Group projects in the afternoon, where students will work in small groups (3-4 students) on biological data analysis challenges, using state-of-the-art technologies

The summer school will include lectures from four prominent speakers: Stanislas Dehaene (Collège de France), Jérémy Harroch (Quantmetry), Thomas Lecuit (Collège de France) and Eric Vivier (CIML, Innate Pharma).

The registration is open to PhD students from our community. Please contact us at info@centuri-livingsystems.org if you are interested to join us!

An update on CENTURI PhD Call 2019

From a total of more than 180 applications for CENTURI PhD call, 23 PhD candidates have been interviewed in Marseille, from April 23 to April 25, 2019. The PhD candidates have all been auditioned by an ad hoc selection committee and have all met the PIs of at least three projects.

Social events have been organized with the PhD candidates, PhD students and postdocs from our community. Based on the feedback of the PIs and on the auditions, the selection committee has selected a total of 14 PhD candidates for the call. We now expect the final answer from the candidates.

PhD students who accept the offer will start in Autumn 2019.
