About his postdoctoral project

Nicolás Tizón-Escamilla graduated from the University of Granada with a PhD dissertation on symmetry-breaking structures of fluctuations in nonequilibrium systems. Nicolás is joining the OM team to answer a fundamental question: what can we learn from fluctuations in living active materials? The objective is to derive new theoretical tools (eg. generalised fluctuation-dissipation theorems) paving the way to a new understanding of the relation between forces and flow in flowing active materials (eg. epithelial tissues or embryos).
