After an extensive study in Biomedical Engineering (Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia), and internship on several medical devices’ maintenance, installation and calibration, I did my M.Sc. study in optics and photonics (Europhotonics, an Erasmus mundus program). During my M.Sc, I participated on several projects at Institut Fresnel (Aix-Marseille University, France) and at Institute of Biomedical Engineering (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany), which includes Fluorescence Microscopy, label-free imaging, polarization gating and hyperspectral imaging for non-invasive analysis in biology. After that, I did my PhD in Tomographic diffractive Microscopy (TDM) at University of Upper Alsace, France. My PhD research specializes on Electronics, Optronics and Systems, focusing mainly on optical instrumentation and 3-D image reconstruction. In the first part of my PhD, I optimized the existing TDM data acquisition scheme. Then, aiming at providing 3-D quantitative polarimetric imaging, I developed a polarization sensitive TDM system.

As an optics and biophotonics engineer at Centuri Multi-engineering platform, I can help you with development of off-the-shelf optical imaging systems, extension and modification of commercial microscopes as well as image post-processing strategies. I can also provide services on maintenance, calibration and installation of commercial light microscopes using manufacturers guidelines.
