About his postdoctoral project

I study how cellular metabolism controls cell proliferation during embryonic development. Although many mechanisms regulating cell division are known, the role of metabolism in coordinating growth and tissue organization remains poorly understood.
Using the crustacean Parhyale hawaiensis, I investigate how embryos can regenerate an entire tissue after the loss of early cells. This work focuses on identifying transient metabolic changes that allow cells to rapidly proliferate while preserving correct tissue patterning. By combining live imaging, single-cell analysis, and functional perturbations, my research aims to uncover how metabolic states at the cellular level shape tissue development.
