Data-Driven Biological Modeling
CENTURI Scientific Meeting — 2026
The Event — CENTURI Scientific Meeting
CENTURI is pleased to announce the 2026 Edition of its Scientific Meeting, once again bringing together leading scientists from around the world to address interdisciplinary and timely challenges at the interface of biology, physics, mathematics, and computer science. The CENTURI Scientific Meeting 2026 will continue this tradition by providing a forum for exploring how quantitative and theoretical approaches can shed light on the organisation, dynamics, and function of living systems across scales.
Recent advances have highlighted that biological information is encoded and processed through multiple intertwined layers, including biochemical, mechanical, and physical interactions. Emergent length and time scales often arise from the coupling of these processes, while the spatial organisation and geometry of biological systems play a central role in shaping information flow and collective behaviour. By bringing together a diverse community of researchers from biology, physics, mathematics, and computer science, this meeting aims to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and stimulate new ideas and collaborations to better understand the principles governing living systems.
The Program
CENTURI Conference 2026 is happy to welcome the following invited speakers in cell biology, biophysics, developmental biology, neurosciences, immunology and ethology:
- Wenying Shou (University College London)
- Dagmar Iber (ETH Zurich)
- Laura Cantini (Institut Pasteur)
- Aurore Loisy (IRPHE - Aix-Marseille Université)
- James Briscoe (Francis Crick Institute)
- Chase Broedersz (VU Amsterdam)
- David Bruckner (University of Basel)
- Martina Dal Bello (Yale University)
- Akanksha Jain (Zurich University)
- Ada Altieri (Université Paris Cité)
- Andreas Tiffeau-Mayer (University College London)
- Sebastian Streichan (UC Santa Barbara)
- Quentin Marcou (CRCM - Aix-Marseille Université)
- James Bradley (MIO - Aix-Marseille Université)
- Simon Gsell (IRPHE - Aix-Marseille Université)
- Vera Pancaldi (CRCT)
The scientifc program of the 2026 CSM will start on Monday 26th morning.
Participants are expected from the Sunday 25th evening, diner and accommodation being included for the Sunday evening. However, we encourage participants to travel by boat — as it is more aligned with CENTURI commitment to more sustainable scientifc meetings — which can result on an arrival on Monday 26th morning.
See the Transportation section for more details on travel options.
The detailed program for the 2026 CSM will be available closer to the event date, and will be sent to all participants — as well as the event booklet, including transportation and accommodation details.

The Venue — Institut des Études Scientifiques de Cargèes
CENTURI Scientifc Conference 2026 will take place at the Institut d'Études Scientifiques de Cargèse (Corsica, France).
Institut d’Études Scientifiques de Cargèse
Menasina D81
20130 Cargèse
Accommodation will be provided in the Institut d’Études Scientifiques de Cargèse (IESC) and in the neighbouring village.
Transportation —
CENTURI encourages participants to travel by boat whenever possible, particularly for those coming from Marseille. Choosing maritime transport helps reduce the environmental impact of the event and aligns with our commitment to more sustainable scientific meetings. The boat trip from Marseille is also intended to be an opportunity for sharing and meeting before and after the conference.
Shuttles are scheduled from both Ajaccio airport and port :
- From Ajaccio Airport : Sunday, October 25th, afternoon (specific time TBD).
- From Ajaccio Port : Monday 26th, morning (specific time TBD).
RECOMMENDATIONS OF BOAT TO BOOK AND EXACT SHUTTLE TIMES WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON.
A unique shuttle, departing Friday, October 30th, will bring participants back to both the airport and the port.
Participants are responsible for booking flight or boat tickets that allow them to arrive in time for the scheduled shuttle services. If arrival and departure times do not align with the shuttle schedule, transportation between the port/airport and the institute will be at the participant’s own expense.
No shuttle is offered from other location than Ajaccio.
