CENTURI welcomed its new cohort of CMB (Computational and Mathematical Biology) Master’s students with a dedicated Welcome Day, held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in Amphitheater 12, Building B.

The day opened at 9:00 AM with a presentation of the CENTURI Institute and its seminar series by Bianca Habermann, followed at 9:30 by an overview of academic administration and international relations. A coffee break then gave students their first opportunity to get to know one another before the morning continued.
From 10:15, two former CMB students returned to share their experience and career paths since graduating:
- Marie José Chaaya (CMB MAS, 2022–2024), now pursuing a PhD at the Institute of Mathematics of Marseille
- Javier Lazaro (CMB Bioinfo, 2021–2023), now pursuing a PhD at the Institut Fresnel in Marseille
Their testimonials gave new students a first look at where the CMB Master’s program can lead.
The rest of the day was organized by track: M1 students attended a presentation of the year ahead from 11:00 to 12:00, while M2 students had theirs from 13:30 to 14:45, following a convivial lunch together at the Terrain de Pétanque (12:00–13:30).
M1 students went on to start their first classes that same afternoon, at 2:00 PM.
CENTURI wishes all incoming students a warm welcome and a successful start to the academic year!
