A look back on SAB Meeting 2026

The CENTURI Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) was held on May 18 and 19, 2026, at the INMED Plenary Room on the Luminy Campus in Marseille. The two-day event combined open sessions, accessible to the public upon registration, with private sessions reserved for board members.

The first morning opened with a general presentation of CENTURI by director Thomas Lecuit, followed by an overview of the institute’s research axes by Tâm Mignot. Training and education were also prominently featured, with presentations on the PhD programme by Julia Schaeffer and Emily Gehrels, and on the Master’s degrees by Florence Hubert and Pierre Recouvreux. Rosa Cossart then presented the Multi-Engineering Platform (MEP), rounding off the public programme for Monday.

Tuesday morning continued with further MEP highlights presented by Thomas Vannier and Mathias Lechelon, before returning to open sessions. Students Soichi Hirokawa and Alessandro Chiappori gave an overview of CENTURI student life, followed by a presentation on CENTURI’s broader life and events by Bianca Haberman, Léo Guignard and Philippe Roudot. The meeting concluded with a forward-looking presentation of CENTURI 2.0 by Thomas Lecuit, offering perspectives on the institute’s future directions.

Both days also included closed sessions dedicated to presentations by CENTURI PIs, PhD students, and postdocs, providing the advisory board with an in-depth view of ongoing research activities across the institute.
